Bus Delivered Tomorrow
After two months of renovations the bus will be delivered to us tomorrow in Indio, CA. I flew up Monday and did a final inspection. The following photos are a few take earlier this week.
Ed Read on far right is the Service Manager, Brian (standing third from the left) oversaw the entire project, Darrell (kneeling second from right) did all the wood work, Bob (kneeling far right) did all the electronics, Steve (standing fourth from the left) and Tom (not pictured) did all the flooring and rough work. Everyone pictured was involved in the project. Thanks to everyone.
The black walnut desk has a retractable 26" HDTV that swivels 180 degrees and becomes a large monitor Macintosh computer.
Watched first BlueRay movie while inspecting the bus and was blown away by the difference. BlueRay is the color TV what color was to black and white. It is an exponential difference.
Darrell did a beautiful job on the woodwork and Tom found some aged black walnut that will perfectly match the walnut in the bus over time.
We designed new low profile lighting to replace the ugly tiki lights.
We replaced the bedroom carpet with a new berber carpet. We removed the carpet in the living room and the stained marble in the kitchen and bath with a new low maintenance tile. Lloyd wanted to put granite down but potential staining and cost overrode aesthetics.
Black Lexan covers the new electronics area. The front storage has new matching doors and better layout.
Both satellites, PS3, DirectTV, routers, and modems are all neatly accessible behind the black Lexan door.
The bedroom TV was upgraded to a 19" HDTV.
A new closet was created in the bathroom after removing the old bedroom TV. flat screens are efficient.
The new toilet is more efficient and eco-friendly.
The upgraded plumbing included a new larger reserve tank. Water flow is perfect now.
The new holding tank monitoring system is much easier to read.
The new inverter with auto gen start is a happy addition. The old Trace never seemed to work right.
After delivery tomorrow we will head to Yuma for several weeks before the holidays. Then we plan on a little dry camping in Quartzsite in January. -L
