Yuletide in Valdosta, Georgia
December 24-29, 2008 We surprised Lloyd's mother, Josephine (Jo), by showing up right in front of her all the way from Yuma, AZ. That made her day, if not her Christmas, to have all the family together once again.
We had a great time relaxing and visiting with family. The warmth and sun greeted us each day, as did family dinners which are always enjoyable, and filling. Lloyd's Dad makes a pound cake that thrills his oldest son; he is one of several gifted cooks in the Williams family. Thank you all for accommodating our veggie-ness.
Here's the gang ready for another holiday feast:
We had plenty of time for leisure and, since it was our first time meeting the nephews's girlfriends, we took the "kids" out for pizza and fun to get to know the ladies better and catch up with the boys, uh hum, young men. They grow so fast! Kyle turns 18 tomorrow. Happy Birthday, Kyle! We send our love.
Lloyd and Kyle race one another in flashy sportscars. Kyle's girlfriend, Amanda, observes in the background.
Cole and his girlfriend, Kaitlyn, get into air hockey and accumulate many, many tickets to redeem for more fun stuff.
Kyle wins against his uncle, I'm sure of it.
We had a wonderful time.
Work and travel beckoned us back to Atlanta where we eased into the new year with a film-a-thon, wine and cheese and key lime pie - just what we wanted.
Happy new year to you! We hope 2009 is your best year yet.
Our best wishes,
-P&L
