Ironworks Distillery

Tour of Nova Scotia - July 29, 2010 - Lunenburg, NS

Our friend Deb Beers introduced us last November to Pierre Guevremont and Lynne MacKay who had just purchased the old Lunenburg Ironworks building on the corner of Kempt and Montague streets and were in the process of turning this historic building into a distillery. We were priviledged to a private tour of the distillery in the works. They were worried that the building inspector would not let them keep the original rough worn floors. But when we visited today six weeks after their grand opening. The Ironworks Distillery greets you with a large German still in the back corner.

The old forge and wooden floors add to the atmosphere.

When you come to Lunenburg stop by the Distillery for a tasting. We left with bottles of Apple Vodka and Cranberry Liqueur. -l
